What this site collects
Short version: an email address if you give one, and anonymous traffic statistics. Nothing is sold, and nothing is passed on.
The reader list
If you enter your email address on this site, it is stored with Kit, the email service that runs the list. It is used for one thing: telling you when a new Sam Winton book is out. It is not sold, rented, traded or given to anyone else.
Every email carries an unsubscribe link. One click removes you, and the address is deleted from the list. You can also write to the address at the bottom of this page and ask to be removed, or ask what is held about you, and it will be done.
Kit stores subscriber data on its own systems, which are outside New Zealand. Their privacy terms are at kit.com/privacy.
Advertising and the Meta pixel
Some visitors arrive here from an advertisement on Facebook or Instagram. Those pages carry Meta’s pixel, a small piece of code that reports back anonymously that someone arrived and whether they went on to the book. It is used to judge whether the advertising is worth running, and for nothing else.
You can turn this off for every site you visit, not just this one, in your Facebook settings under Off-Facebook Activity, or by blocking third-party cookies in your browser. This site works exactly the same either way.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies of its own. The Meta pixel described above sets its own, and the type is loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address as part of serving the font files.

The buy links on this site go to Amazon. What happens once you are there is governed by Amazon’s own privacy policy, not this one.
Children
This site is not aimed at children and the reader list is not intended for anyone under sixteen.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Write to the address below and it will be handled. If you are in the EU or the UK, the lawful basis for holding your email address is your consent, given when you entered it, and withdrawing it is the unsubscribe link.
